The USB-WT41 module is a best-in-class module. The USB-W41 module is a fully enclosed USB adaptor with a BlueGiga WT41 module on board.
On the board is a FTDI serial-USB chip, and 7 red LEDS which are connected to the IO pins. These boards have been professionally made by a contract assembly company.
This adaptor was developed to be a training tool and is much less expensive than the Official Bluegiga evaluation board which is around $250.
The WT41 module is rated for 500-1000m but will need an external antenna to achieve this transmission distance.
This module comes fully enclosed in a case and there is a choice of gray or clear - there is a slot for the large white chip antenna. The case may be removed by carefully using a screwdriver to free the side latch points - a Youtube video of this can be watched below
